The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted to an attendance of sixteen members. We shared our memories of Greg Taylor who recently passed away, and honored him with a moment of silence.
The topic of bullion items consisted of: 1 oz. silver eagles, and a variety of silver bars, rounds and bullets weighing in grams, ounces and kilos, and a complete album of silver eagles from 1986 to present. Gold bullion presented was a 1 oz. 1986 gold eagle, ½ oz. American Buffalo coin, a $5 gold piece found in a counting machine, and a 2003 platinum coin.
Counterfeit and Error coins featured were a Spanish 8 escudos piece, 1876cc trade dollar, and an 1814 Hibernia token, an off-struck Lincoln cent, Jefferson die rotation, common cent with a wire rim and a nickel on a one cent planchet.
A collection of Matchbook Covers from vacation travels were shown. Various Trading Card subjects exhibited were; Coca Cola, women’s baseball, Operation Desert Storm, 1940’s series of “Wings Cigarette” airplane cards, which were used to reinforced the soft pack, and Topps “Friend or Foe” aircraft identification cards.
Miscellaneous items included an album of vintage U.S., fractional and Confederate currency, and model tanks. One of our members was lucky enough to find a 2019 quarter, with the “W” mint mark, while in Atlantic City.
