The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted to an attendance of fourteen members and one guest.
The topic of Charles Barber type coins consisted of quarters, dimes, and a liberty nickel, which was later gold, plated to be passed off as a $5 gold piece and was later known as the “racketeer” nickel. He also designed the 1893 Isabella quarter and the 1892–1893 obverse of the Columbian half dollar, which was displayed. The reverse was done by George Morgan.
Canadian coins on exhibit were assorted denominations from the past three centuries and more recent proof and proof-like coin sets of the Canadian provinces.
Die-cast models presented were: 125th anniversary Coca Cola truck and other commercial delivery vehicles, cars made in England, a large racing car, in the shape of one of the Monopoly Game starting pieces, and assorted scale sized models of tanks and aircraft.
Other collectibles on hand consisted of; Oriental art, an old bottle, possibly 1880’s, found on the job, and a discussion of a member’s interest in vintage bicycles.
