Fourteen members and one guest attended. The program focused on Italian coins and U.S. Half Dollars. Members presented all varieties of half dollars from Bust type to Kennedy’s and slabbed commemorative halves. Italian coins exhibited were ancient Roman, bygone states of Italy in the 1800’s, to more recent times and a souvenir papal medal of St. Peter’s Basilica.
Show & Tell consisted of small quarter folders that were giveaways at savings banks, a 150 year old ship’s clock, an over date Bust half dollar, a model tank and a replica of an old cast iron bank.
A raffle was held during the break and Show & Tell continued afterward.
A Christmas and Hanukkah holiday party was addressed, and most who were present agreed to come for this occasion. The club will present a fifty dollar donation to the library for their hospitality and their free advertisements for our club.
Along with the party, the topics for the meeting will be: Morgan Dollars and any other interesting or odd collectibles of your choice.
