Monday October 17th, 6:30pm – 8:45pm

Twelve members and one guest attended.

The program consisted of Civil War tokens and Currency of all types. Presented by the membership were Patriotic and Store card tokens, an encased postage stamp and fractional currency, that were all used to alleviate the coin shortage in the North, due to the hoarding of coins of all metals during the Civil War. The South’s money was represented by Confederate currency as well as early U.S. large size and WWII HAWAII notes.

During the break we had our raffle.

Thanks to Paul, Phil and Edward for furnishing the refreshments.

Show & Tell consisted of: political “funny money”, a seated liberty love token, authentic Civil war military medals, model tanks and a commemorative medal from Saratoga.
