Monday August 15th, 6:30pm – 8:45pm

15 members attended.

The program was Early Commemorative Coins and Coinage of the United Kingdom.  The members provided some of each topic describing examples of commems including: an Isabella quarter, Colombian, Oregon trail, Texas and Illinois half dollars.

Also, an assortment of coinage from Great Britain were shown and discussed, ranging from colonial to mid eighteen hundreds to the present era.

Show and tell included error coins, the numismatic news of the day and an unusual pencil sharpener brought in by Greg, which resembled a small lathe.  We thank Sam for donating coin folders to members and Phil who distributed 2X2 holders to those that ordered them.

A raffle was conducted during the coffee break.  Donation for the raffle and refreshments are always appreciated.  Thank you.

September meeting topic will be NICKELS and MEDALS.
