Minutes of 17th Meeting – July 17, 2017

The minutes were read and accepted to an attendance of eleven members and two guests. Our guests, Virginia and Libby, were seeking help on coins and currency left by relatives and an estate. They later left that evening with knowledge that they received by our members.

The topics included favorite books on various collectibles such as: an 1875 reprint of colonial coins, coins of other countries minted by the U.S., origami shapes made from currency, Nippon china, and Ted Williams.  Also, aluminum gasoline station tokens of famous people, an off centered Jefferson nickel, a prestige set, and other interesting subjects.

We were informed that the River Vale Library has plans for future expansion, and is asking for support from the townspeople to go forward. Printed information is available at the library.

After the break and raffle, we continued with Show & Tell and presented next month’s August 21, program; Favorite Coin Topics, Winged Liberty (mercury) Dimes, Roosevelt Dimes and Civil War Material.
